Everything You Need to Know About WhatsApp Business
If you’re not already familiar with WhatsApp, it’s one of the most popular messaging apps in the world, boasting over 1.5 billion active users each month and helping to facilitate more than 25 billion messages daily (on average). Unlike many other messaging apps on the market, WhatsApp doesn’t require you to create an account or even supply any personal information at all when using it. It’s also entirely free to use.
What Is A WhatsApp Business Profile?
In April 2016, WhatsApp announced it was rolling out a new business feature that would allow small companies to create profiles on its platform. This was significant news because up until then, businesses hadn’t been able to take advantage of all that WhatsApp had to offer. With these new business profiles, though, companies could post updates and offer special discounts for customers. These messages would come in threaded format and couldn’t be missed among regular conversations. More importantly, brands could now monitor customer feedback via their profile pages and even use geolocation filters so that certain promotions only show up if you’re in a particular region or city.
How To Setup A Profile
Step 1: Start your first chat by tapping on any contact, or group of contacts, in a chat thread. This will bring you directly into a chat with just that person or group of people. Tap on their profile picture at the top left of your screen. This will bring up your contact card for that person and you’ll see an Add Chat button at upper right. Tap on it. Step 2: On your new profile page, tap on Business Profile which is located at upper right corner (the icon looks like a white i). Choose a company name and fill out other details about your business as necessary.
What Can I Do With My Profile?
Your profile is a powerful tool on WhatsApp. Its audience is every contact you’ve ever made on WhatsApp, making it an easy way for you to directly communicate with customers and potential customers. You can link your Instagram and Twitter accounts so that your contacts can see what you’re up to outside of your messaging app (and you can do likewise). And if someone views your profile or clicks one of your links, that action will generate a notification in their phone—even if they don’t have a Facebook account—for some added visibility. That doesn’t mean everything has to go through your business profile either; users have plenty of opportunities to share their thoughts with other people in their network—just keep in mind that anything posted on Facebook eventually becomes public knowledge.
Advanced Features
Although simple in appearance, WhatsApp has some advanced features that really set it apart from other messaging platforms. For instance, you can add custom links on your profile and share them with friends—and if they’re interested in your link, they can click and start a conversation with you. Similarly, when you send a message with a picture or video attached (or link), you will see two blue arrows appear next to it: if someone taps these arrows and comments on your content, their reply is pinned so it stays at the top of your thread for all participants to see. These are just some of many useful features available within WhatsApp Business; more information about its full capabilities can be found on its official site. (See Further Reading below.)
